Liposuction

What is Liposuction?

Despite living a healthy lifestyle that prioritizes physical activity and proper nutrition, some people may still have trouble with stubborn, unwanted fat and disproportionate body contours. This can often be attributed to hereditary traits rather than lack of weight control or exercise. Liposuction is a procedure that slims and defines localized areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits. The result is improved body contours and an enhanecd self-image.

Liposuction techniques can be used to reduce fat in the:

  • Thighs
  • Hips and buttocks
  • Abdomen and waist
  • Upper arms
  • Back
  • Inner knee
  • Chest area
  • Cheeks, chin, and neck
  • Calves and ankles

In some cases, liposuction is performed alone; in other cases it is used along with additional plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift, breast reduction, or tummy tuck

What is it not?

Liposuction is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise and is not treatment for obesity. It cannot effectively treat cellulite or correct loose, baggy skin.
