Mastopexy
What is Mastopexy?
A breast lift is a surgical procedure used to reshape and restore firmness to the breast contour. Extra skin is removed and surrounding tissue is tightened to support the breasts and give a profile that is more youthful and uplifted. A breast lift can also reduce enlarged areolas, which is often an effect of sagging breasts.
What is it not?
Breast lift surgery is not intended to significantly change the size of your breasts, so if your goal is fuller or smaller breasts, you may instead consider breast augmentation or reduction surgery.
Is Mastopexy right for me?
A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Weight fluctuations
- Aging
- Gravity
- Heredity
Breast lift surgery is a good option for you if:
- You are physically healthy and maintain a stable weight
- You don’t smoke
- You have realistic expectations
- You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts sag and have lost shape and volume
- Your breasts a have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous
- When unsupported, your nipples fall below the breast crease
- Your nipples and areolas point downward
- And have stretched skin and enlarged areolas
- One breast is lower than the other
